Chambray and Loafers

Of all the items in my closet, my chambray shirt gets by far the most wear. I love it with mint pants and floral pants and dresses and skirts and shorts and jeans (my favorite version of the Canadian tuxedo).

Chambray goes with everything and you’ll never convince me otherwise. Don’t hate me.

Since Spring has finally decided to bring us actual rain showers instead of snow showers, I decided to bust out my minty pants and loafers and do a little rain dance in celebration.

Let’s talk about these loafers for a hot second. I LOVE THEM.

Chambray and Loafers, loafers

I have weird small/narrow/bony feet which tend to hate most shoes. It takes ages to break in my footwear and I still get blisters from well-worn shoes. After finding these gorgeous girls at T.J.Maxx, I could not get over how soft and supple the leather is and my pathetic feet have definitely found their new home.

Typically, I’m turned off by brands that cover their products in the brand name or logo. Fortunately these Coach loafers are only branded on the bottom of the shoe and inside, so I don’t feel like I’m a walking advert when I wear them (which is every chance I get).

To keep the leather soft and clean, I usually wear rain boots or a good walking shoe on my commute and slip into these once I get to the office.

This is a very typical work outfit for me, suited both to my office’s culture/style and my love of all things comfy. Fortunately, since I work in a creative agency, personal style is encouraged and casual is the norm.
